War Room Scriptures

The New Testamant talks about Spiritual Warfare. It is important to understand that this has nothing to do with some sort of Christian jihad but it is a spiritual war. A war against a type of “Zeitgeist” that has positioned itself against the truth as it is revealed in Jesus Christ. This war is fought with demolishing spiritual entities through prayer and argument. Not just a war or words but a war of spiritual power and dominions being stripped of their assets.

Below are some scriptures from the OT and NT making describing this type of war and the challenges we face.

Hosea 4:5-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

⁵ Therefore you shall stumble in the day;
The prophet also shall stumble with you in the night;
And I will destroy your mother.
⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.

⁷ “The more they increased,
The more they sinned against Me;
I will change^[a] their glory^[b] into shame.

2.Cor. 10

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, ⁵ casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

1 Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed thegood confession in the presence of many witnesses.

2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Matthew 10:16

Psalm 127

Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,

Matthew 4

Genesis 3

And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

1 Peter 5

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. James 4:6-8

6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”[

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

John 18:36

³⁶ Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

Ephesians 2

2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, ² in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, ³ among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

Ephesians 6

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,^[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³ Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
